Pre ride!

Pre ride the course today(FRIDAY) from 4-5pm. The first race on saturday is at 1pm, feel free to show up early and pre ride the course then too as well.

We'll be barnstorming and hillclimbing once again at Manion's CX in 2011. Although much more of the course will be laid out on the upper flat section around the barn, there will still be enough up and down across that big grassy hillside to make you smile and your competitors frown. Mr. Stitches will be on the scene once again and he's hungry for wheels. He especially loves carbon tubulars! Of course if you don't want to feed him just get off and walk- duh.

Day 1 races will start east out of the barn and follow three climbing/descending fingers before hitting the barriers. Then it's a breezy ride back around to the technical section behind the barn. Once around the North side of the Manion's offices, the course heads back towards the hillside, passing the pit area for the first time. After descending the stitches, you'll meet Mr. Stitches himself. Then it's back onto the hillside and back up past the pit area for the second time before negotiating an off-camber embankment and heading back into the barn. Course length = about 1.6 miles

Day 2 races will be run in the opposite direction. The course is better than last year!

Cans will go to the cool fundraiser Cranksgiving. Please, if you do not race our Cyclocross race and are in town, consider participating in this cool event.

Changes!

We've got a few changes in store for Manions 2.

First change, is the course will not be nearly as hilly. We do not want to ride on any of the course from Manions 1 in order to preserve the land and keep the nice people of Manion's happy with us coming out and racing. We will have a map posted soon, we will be using lots of the Southwest side of the field, kind of along the road where everyone parked.
Second change, there will be tons of Tall Grass Beer. They have been awesome to work with and they make awesome beer. They are just now breaking into the KC area so look for their 4 packs(16oz cans). Very good stuff, favorite is the Oasis IPA.
Third Change...this!

4th Change, even more prizes, food, colavita olive oil, etc.

5th Change, beginners Manions101 class at 9:30, bring your friends and get them to race! If you buy a 1 day license, its only $10 to race! Women cat 4 and juniors its only $10!

Everything we needed to do today is done. Race is ready and registration is at 8:30am, brownies are in the oven now, BLVD Pale Ale is on ICE.(if you don't like pale ale, byob)

Thanks to everyone who pre road the course today, it is getting broke in nicely.

The course is not muddy at all with the little rain we got, the grass is a little slick though. I was able to ride the whole course on piranhas(semi slick) tires and didn't slip.

Directions are on the flyer below, but basically you gotta go to 67th/leavenworth road, then take 67th till you can't go any further. Please park on the grass like everyone else.

$20first race, $10 for 2nd race. Volker Bicycles will have a yard sale(lots of stuff selling cheap), bring cash/checks.

Barries are 15" high.

Bring all the cowbells/drums/sticks/noisemakers you can.

No Mud Party.

People of cx, our course is on the side of a hill, a hill that faces the sun. The place dries up super fast. You probably won't need muddin tires.

We will be working alot saturday, we will have a byob pre-ride party from 4-6 on Saturday. If you like, byob, (bike and other things that start with b) and come out to pre-ride.
